The kids said they were rounded up from Nakuru streets on Wednesday night by 'county officials' and dumped in the forest where they braved chilling cold.

ON Thursday morning, they walked to a nearby village where they asked for a match box and lit a fire to warm themselves.

Eldamaravine Deputy County Commissioner Mary Kate Kwamboka is said to have transported the kids back to Nakuru.

According to a source, who preferred to remain anonymous, the DCC together with area Member of County Assembly Benjamin Koech came to the rescue of the kids.

"Mary vowed to take them back to Nakuru County. They are currently at Eldamaravine Town Hall," the source said.

Netizens hit out at those who dumped the children terming the act as inhumane.

Nakuru County government is yet to issue a statement over the matter.
