Speaking during a homecoming ceremony for celebrated Kikuyu singer Muigai wa Njoroge, Kabogo launched a thinly-veiled attack on Uhuru.

Using vernacular, Kabogo alluded to President Kenyatta neglecting his voters.

“Muthamaki erwo jeshi ti ngenu. Jeshi ti ngenu. Mwamuona akihetoka haria mumurugamie, mumuire maa, jesho ti ngenu. Na ndiruuga uguo muthenya, nduarwo kuria ngutuarwo ….thirikari ino ee ti yake (Mr President, your voters are not happy. If he passes here (at Waiyaki Way), stop him and let him know he has let us down. And I am saying that openly, is it this his government??)” Kabogo said to thunderous cheers from residents.

The flamboyant politician was referring to the term (jeshi) that was popular with Kenyatta during campaigns.

He asked jeshi (voters) to get out in large numbers and help him defeat NASA candidate Raila Odinga in the 2017 presidential race.

Kabogo said Uhuru has been unable to be in charge of his government leading to massive theft of public property.

“Afadhali hii miradi yote isimamishwe hizo pesa tuletewe tugawane (Let him stop all the projects and divide that money among Kenyans). Ukienda Nyamakinya ni Mkikuyu anaumia huko (If you go to Nairobi’s down town, businessmen are suffering),” Kabogo said.
