On Monday, High Court Judge Dorcas Ngenye quashed the suspects bond terms pending a fresh pre-bail report to be filed in court.

The Judge directed that a fresh pre-bail report of the suspects to be filed in court within two weeks.

Justice Ngenye said that she will make a determination after studying the fresh pre-bail report.

Mukhtar's lawyer Lyn Owano had asked the court to quash the bond terms.

In papers filed in court, the lawyer claimed that the pre-bail report filed in court earlier was not factual and needed to be interrogated.

Last month, Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Adayi had granted Sh1 Million bond and Sh500, 000 alternative cash bail to the two suspects.

The two suspects had been charged with planning and executing Mukhtar’s attempted murder.

Mukhtar is battling for his life at the Nairobi hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Garissa Governor Ali Korane is among people who have been interrogated in connection with the attempted murder.
