A Murang’a court on Monday denied bond to a 32-year-old suspect who is charged with raping, sodomizing and assaulting his 70-year-old mother.
Appearing before chief magistrate Margaret Wachira, the suspect was charged with the offence which was committed on July 25.
According to the prosecution, the suspect committed the heinous act and threatened to harm the elderly woman if she told anyone.
Wachira said the suspect will continue to be detained at Murang’a GK prison.
A family who preferred anonymity said that the 70-year-old mother was spotted by relatives having difficulty while walking.
“After probing, she disclosed the shameful and beastly act. We fail the pain for her,” the source said.
Family members were irked that the woman’s own child would do such a thing.
