Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso is expected to be discharged, and transferred from a London hospital to India for further treatment.
The county boss has spent close to one month at the Royal Marden NHS Foundation Trust Hospital in London after her condition deteriorated.
Confirming the new development, Bomet County Chief of Staff Jayne Sigilai said that the governor is responding well to treatment, but needs further examination in India.
Sigilai made the revelation during a meeting with Members of the Bomet County Assembly on Tuesday evening.
The meeting was also attended by Bomet Jubilee Chairman Benard Mutai, and a handful of residents.
"The governor is doing well but she is expected to be referred to a hospital in India to be attended to by another set of doctors," Sigilai said as quoted by Nation.
Laboso's husband Edwin Abonyo, and son Brian have been in London to offer moral support as she undergoes treatment.
Several prominent leaders including; ODM leader Raila Odinga, Chief Justice David Maraga, Kenyan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Manoah Esipisu, among others have visited the governor in London.
Details about her illness remain scanty.
