Migori county governor Okoth Obado has reinstated one of his ministers whom he fired for political disloyalty.
Mrs Elizabeth Ochaye was removed from her Trade docket last year after taking a different direction with the governor regarding the recent Migori senatorial by-election.
Ochaye sided with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate Ochilo Ayako.
On the other hand, Obado who was then in detention marshalled his forces and allies in support of Federal Party of Kenya (FPK) candidate Eddy Oketch.
The governor was being held after his implication in the murder of his girlfriend and Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
Ayako went ahead to win the seat.
The CEC was on Wednesday reappointed after her dismissal in November 2018.
However, she has been moved to the Environment docket headed by Moses Chamwada in an acting capacity.
The same was confirmed by Obado's Press Secretary Nicholas Anyuor.
"Mrs Ochaye has been reinstated and reported back on Tuesday. The governor does not have any problem with her. The governor is dedicated to offering services to the people of Migori," he was quoted by the Nation.
Obado is a known ODM rebel and has since been proposed for expulsion from the party by the Orange party disciplinary committee.
