Orange Democratic Movement party treasurer Timothy Bosire now wants DP William Ruto investigated over business deals with his Chief of Staff Ken Osinde, a former ambassador to Germany.
Already, DCI George Kinoti has summoned Mr Osinde for probe after it emerged that an Italian firm contracted to do two dams at Elgeyo-Marakwet County, wired Sh47 million to an insurance company linked to Mr Osinde.
In a phone call, the former Kitutu Masaba MP also asked the DCI to stop construction of Bonyunyu Dam in Masaba North, arguing that due diligence was not carried out despite Ruto pushing for it's construction.
"There seems to be a network of cartels in Ruto's office. When the fish is rotten, start from the head. Osinde has been used to execute dirty errands on behalf of his boss and this is regrettable.
"I feel that his business deals with Ruto should be investigated. They have even been pushing for construction of Bonyunyu Dam despite the fact that no feasibility study was done or even public participation," he argued.
The Bonyunyu Dam will cost taxpayers Sh5 billion and when DP Ruto visited the region in June 2018, he insisted that the construction will go on as planned. One person was killed by the police last year as residents protested against the project.
And Bosire also blames Mr Osinde for allegedly bribing voters in the region during 2017 elections, adding that the money was questionable.
"He was bribing voters and that is in public domain. He must be investigated along with the boss. I suspect that he's being used to steal from the public by his boss."
