Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has regretted that prolonged politicking will derail development.
Maangi while speaking on Monday during the launch of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission's Annual Voter Education Week (AVEW) in Kisii County challenged politicians to shun retrogressive politics.
"The rate at which politicians are talking matters politics is too high compared to the time being taken by the same politicians to deliver. Leaders must stop talking too much about who should be elected in the upcoming polls," stated Maangi.
The Kisii Deputy Governor pointed out that the ongoing debate about fundraisers in churches should not divide leaders and church leaders.
Maangi who is expected to run for Kisii Governor in 2022 warned local politicians against dragging elected leaders into politics citing that they need to be given time to deliver.
"Elected leaders need to be supported and given peace of mind so that they can deliver as required. It is important for political losers to keep off," reiterated Maangi.
Present at the event were Jimmy Angwenyi, MP for Kitutu Chache North who doubles up as the Deputy Majority Leader of the National Assembly and Kisii County Assembly Speaker David Kombo.
