President Uhuru Kenyatta, on Wednesday 20th 2019 made an official tour to Kisii county.
The President, who was accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Chief Justice David Maraga among other leaders launched the various project at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The President met with leaders of both Nyamira and Kisii Counties where the leaders assured him of their commitment to the National development agenda and he also assured them of government support.
"This afternoon I joined leaders from Kisii and Nyamira Counties in deliberations, and they assured me of their commitment to the national development agenda. We will continue to complement each other to ensure we deliver quality services to our people," reads a Twitter statement by the president.
The President reiterated that no Kenyan should be left out of development agenda so that no one should feel excluded from the decision making process.
The President said security is one thing his administration is working on, to ensure the life of citizens are safeguarded and for economic growth.
"My Administration also continues to improve the country's security to safeguard our people and to ensure our development agenda remains on course. There cannot be development and economic growth without improved and proper security measures," reads a tweet by the president.
The President announced plans to renovate Suneka Airstrip in Kisii County before the end of the year, and also revealed that there are an ongoing feasibility study and discussions for the construction of an airport that will serve the greater South Western region.
