Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna has faulted Kenyan Football team Harambee Stars for travelling to Egypt for the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) competitions.
In a tweet on Friday, the former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant said that Harambee Stars should never have gone to Egypt, a country where its first legally elected president was killed.
"Following the crude and brutal murder of Egypt's first democratically-elected civilian president Mohamed Morsi by the military despot Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Harambee Stars should not have travelled to Egypt for a match nor should have the People's Con-Man," he said.
He further added that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga should never have gone there too. Odinga joined the team on Thursday to wish them success in their matches.
This comes just days after the former Egypt President Mohamed Morsi passed away while attending to a court session. Rumours have it that Morsi, who had been jailed since 2013 was killed by the current Egyptian regime.
The exiled lawyer has faulted the Kenyan football team, who are in Egypt on a completely different mission. The Afcon competitions will kick off on Friday, with hosts Egypt playing against Zimbabwe at 11.00pm.
