Former Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop alias Buzeki has hit out at Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and his Bahati counterpart Kimani Ngunjiri for holding a political event in Eldoret town.
Through his official Facebook page, Buzeki said the move was unnecessary as it interrupted businesses in Eldoret town.
The two MPs on Thursday held a meeting at the famous Silverline hotel where they addressed locals and a group that was en route to Deputy President William Ruto's home in Sugoi.
"Today we witnessed another political event in Eldoret streets, ‘dare’ you interrupt our businesses by blocking the entire Eldoret town at a time when the masses are filthy poor,” said Buzeki in part of his post.
According to the billionaire businessman, the meeting was just usual stage-managed declaration by political elites of undying political support and communal bonds without the prerequisite of local backing.
He further said that it was unfortunate that such a meeting gave a blind eye to the current socio-economic challenges facing Kenyans such as youth unemployment and poor Agricultural returns.
“At this time of the year, when Kenyans are busy digesting the BBI report, reorganizing themselves after the floods and preparing to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus, politics should take the back seat,” he noted.
Buzeki noted that the common interest and solutions to socioeconomic challenges should be the binding cord and that political decisions and choices should be made on the basis of solid manifestos and track records, but not entitlements and emotions.
