Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga remains the chief leader in the Luo Nyanza political arena and the ultimate kingmaker.

In the region, his endorsement is almost an election assurance, a case that has been the situation for close to two decades now.

However, his endorsements will not be of any effect on some of his allies who are openly going to lose out in their bids in the approaching 2022 elections.

Here are some of them.

1. Gladys Wanga

The Homabay Woman Representative has hinted that she might go for the gubernatorial seat in the 2022 polls.

Her bid, however, comes at a time when Kenyans are calling for the abolition of the seat, claiming that the holders are doing nothing.

This is proof that she could also be in the group whose job is being questioned, and will have it hard convincing her way into office.

She was also seen supporting the 8 percent additional tax on petrol in August, an addition that many Kenyans lamented about, and will most likely be personally punished at the ballot.

Also, she has since began picking fights with leaders she might need to succeed, a good instance being her ongoing feud with Suba North lawmaker Millie Odhiambo.

Also, she was recently heard hurling attacks at a section of area male leaders whom she accused of telling her to leave the county and vie at her home in Kisumu.

These could gang against her in retaliation and will most likely overpower her.

2. Fred Ouda

The Kisumu Central lawmaker has been neither here nor there since his election in 2017.

To many, he only came to power courtesy of his loyalty to Raila and his controversial nature which saw him strip naked to protest against insults being hurled at Raila by the rival camp.

In parliament, he has not been as vocal as he should be as the person representing the heart of the nation's third largest city.

Despite his closeness to Raila, the latter will have it very tough securing a reelection or political elevation.

3. Onyango K'Oyoo

The latter is the Muhoroni lawmaker currently, and has since shifted back to Odinga though they never saw eye to eye in the past.

He first came to office in 2013 on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) after trouncing ODM candidate and Raila's ally Ayiecho Olweny.

However, seven years down the line, rice and cane farmers are still complaining as sugar factories in the region unsuccessfully try to resurrect.

Flooding is also on the increase in the Kano Plains, as the lawmaker remains largely silent, and is never heard raising anything on the floor of the house.
