Renowned Somali lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi is a house-hold name when it comes to matters in the corridors of justice.
Ahmednasir is also said to be among the wealthiest lawyers in the country.
He is also among vocal lawyers in the country and often comments and writes opinions on national issues.
Apart from his legal profession, Ahmednasir is a columnist, a publisher and a businessman.
Ahmednasir is nicknamed 'Grand Mullah'.
According to Ahmednasir, he was given the 'Grand Mullah' name by former Chief Justice (CJ) Dr Willy Mutunga.
He notes that Dr Mutunga nicknamed him 'Grand Mullah' during Judicial Service Commission (JSC) interviews in 2014.
The Somali lawyer says that he was given the name for his expertise and understanding of Islamic law.
He denies that he was given the name for his flamboyant lifestyle and wealth.
"Grand Mullah does not mean being wealthy or being a 'Godfather' as some people have claimed," he says.
Ahmednasir says that he feels proud being called 'Grand Mullah' for his wide knowledge and expertise in Islamic and constitutional law.
The Somali lawyer is married and has children.
He is also a staunch Muslim.
Ahmednasir is an ardent supporter of Arsenal Football Club and likes travelling.
