For the better part of Thursday, parents whose children are studying in three secondary schools from Gusii region where Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i hails from protested over poor performance and mismanagement of public funds.
The parents in Moticho, Riagumo and Muma secondary schools in South Mugirango spent the whole day protesting on grounds that the institutions were performing badly.
They demanded that Mr Matiang'i should be named the Education CS so that he can streamline operations in schools.
"The principal Muma secondary must go because he sold over 7 computers which were being used by computer students and later claimed that thieves stole them. He is the notorious thief who will not know peace," stated Janet Mong'ina.
Another parent Michael Onditi from Moticho faulted the head teacher for failing to motivate teachers.
"Moticho secondary has been recording poor performance in national exams. The principal has stayed at the institution for over 15 years. We are demanding his removal," said furious Onditi.
Andrew Osoro said he will not allow his sons go back to Riagumo secondary until the current school management is changed.
"Matiang'i has done a good job apprehending rogue drivers. let him intervene and ensure the rogue headteacher at Riagumo is transferred," Mr Osoro stated.
