South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro has defended his decision to associate with Deputy President William Ruto.
The youthful legislator said it is his right to work with anyone towards realising development for his people.
The MP was elected on a KNC ticket after defecting from ODM over fears that the party's nominations would not be free and fair.
"South Mugirango constituents elected me to represent them at the National Assembly and articulate issues affecting them in the villages. The electorates didn't tell me who I should work with and who I should not work with. My association with DP Ruto is for the better of my people in South Mugirango. Anyone questioning my alliance with DP Ruto should venture into something constructive instead of being idle," he said.
The lawmaker assured residents that he is committed to ensuring education standards are raised in his constituency and locals get access to proper medical care and good roads. He also promised to beef up security in the area.
"I have been close with DP Ruto so that I can persuade him to ask his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta to initiate various projects in the constituency and allocate more funds to my constituency which students will be given as bursaries. I don't wish to have excuses in 2022 when I will be completing my tenure," he stated.
The vocal lawmaker was speaking at Tendere Sport Grounds in Kisii County on Thursday evening.
