St Anthony boys high school’s under-19 football team are the champions of this year’s edition of the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) term two games.
The Rift Valley representatives won the national title after beating Nairobi representatives Dagoretti high school 6-5 via post match penalties in the final match, played in Kisumu on Saturday afternoon.
In the semis, Dagoretti beat Central region champions Olbolosat 3-1, while St Anthony cruised past Western region’s Ebwali 6-5 on post match penalties.
Serani are the boys’ under-16 champions after beating Koyonzo 1-0 in the final. Serani booked a final spot after beating Dagoretti 1-0, while Koyonzo prevailed 3-1 past Boys Town on post match penalties after a 1-1 draw on Friday.
Nyakach girls are the under-19 champions after beating Itigo 2-0, while Wiyeta won the girls under-16 title after beating Maeni 2-1 in the final.
Mogonga are the national boys’ volleyball champions after beating Lelmokwo three sets to nil in the final, while Kwanthanze won the girls’ national volleyball title after beating Cheptil 3-2.
The winners will represent the country in the East African games in Tanzania later this year.
