Nine months after he reached a truce with his former arch-rival and opposition leader Raila Odinga, President Uhuru Kenyatta seems to have extended the same to city business mogul Jimmy Wanjigi.
The 'handshake' reportedly took place when the two met at Raila's rural home in Opoda in Bondo, Siaya county, where Raila hosted the Head of State for breakfast on Friday.
Wanjigi, a close ally of Raila was among the host of notable Kenyans and leaders who were on standby to welcome the head of state for his last leg of his 2-day tour of Luo Nyanza.
After a hearty handshake, the two and the remaining leaders including area Senator James Orengo and Raila's wife Ida Odinga proceeded into the house, reports the Citizen Digital.
Wanjigi has been at loggerheads with Uhuru and his Jubilee Government lately, over what he has termed his decision to side with Raila, a former Presidential hopeful.
This would see police officers raid and spend two days and nights in his Muthaiga home earlier in the year, before confiscating seven guns and 600 rounds of ammunition.
He would later be subjected to eleven charges of handling illegal guns at a Nyeri court, in a journey Raila has seen him through.
Uhuru also used his presence in the county to pay homage to departed founding Vice President Jaramogi Oginga Odinga at the Oginga Odinga mausoleum in Sakwa, Bondo.
