Led by Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Governor Alex Tolgos, the leaders also condemned the killing of Kiptire who until his death was the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator's liaison officer.

“As leadership from Elgeyo Marakwet, we are really saddened by his death, Kiptire was a pastor and in his entire life has never recorded a statement in a police station for having committed any crime,” said governor Tolgos.

The leaders also said that they have been left with no other conclusion but to say this the incident was cold blood assassination.

“We are giving 24 hours to the DCI and Inspector General of police to tell us who were involved, if they will not say what we want to hear and if they don’t admit to the things we know, then we can come into one conclusion that which I will speak in another 24 hours,” noted Murkomen.

They spoke on Sunday at the deceased home in Rock Center on the outskirts of Eldoret town.

The former Kapyego MCA was allegedly kidnapped at his shop in Eldoret town on Friday and his lifeless body was found in Kamatira forest in West Pokot on Saturday.
