Environment Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko has ordered the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) to identify institutions in Kisumu County polluting River Kibos for prosecution.
Speaking in Kisumu on Monday, the former Director of Public Prosecution urged NEMA to be vigilant in ensuring that the natural resource was conserved and free of pollution.
He was speaking during a meeting that was also attended by Opposition leader Raila Odinga, Tourism CS Najib Balala among other leaders in the inspection of the ongoing removal of water hyacinth from Lake Victoria.
The CS arrived in Kisumu to attend the Regional Tourism Stakeholders forum which will be attended by among other leaders the Tourism CS and Cabinet Secretary without Portfolio Raphael Tuju.
