Ruto on Sunday hit out at the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga-led bloc for allegedly playing a role in the Sh400 million controversial deal with the Dubai royal family.

Though the remarks have been condemned by opposition politicians, Lonyangapuo says the DP is only maximizing on the small opportunity availed for him.

He said that having been under fire and criticism lately, Ruto was not going to let an opportunity like this pass him, hence his decision to use it to revenge at his rivals.

"Hawa watu wamekuwa wakimlemea kisiasa lakini pia yeye sasa amepata nafasi (these people have been overpowering him politically but his turn has now come)," the county boss said when speaking on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha show on Tuesday morning.

Lonyangapuo also urged Kenyans to keep off the gold scandal debate saying they should not allow themselves to be drawn into fights by the political class, or risk wasting their time and resources in fights they don't even understand.

"Ningewaomba wakenya wasiingilie sana ile maneno, ile ni siasa ya wadosi (l urge Kenyans keep off this matter, it a matter between the bosses)," said the governor eelcted on a KANU ticket.

Also dragged into the scandal are the names of President Uhuru Kenyatta, Interior Cabinet SecretaryDr Fred Matiang'i, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and businessmen Zaheer Jhanda and Jared Otieno.
