Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has said that plans are in place to realize the anti-Ruto Kakamega rally which was slated for Saturday last week.
The heavily popularized rally which was to be used to announce the next political move for the Western region, flopped after Amani National Congress (ANC) boss Musalia Mudavadi refused to attend.
Malala who is leading the anti-Deputy President (DP) William Ruto Kieleweke team in the county, said that the event organizers will be meeting in Nairobi this week to set a new date for the rally.
The Senator is now reading malice in Mudavadi's last minute change of mind, observing that his actions point at a traitor who is working against the current.
"The meeting in Kakamega was going to be a game changer for Mr Mudavadi. But now it is clear he is not sincere. He could be working with Dr Ruto," he told the Nation.
He also took issue with Mudavadi's recent announcement that he will be forming a new political group dubbed Team Komboa Kenya, which will be a neutral bloc between the reigning Tangatanga and Kieleweke groups.
The youthful parliamentarian termed it a setback to the Luhya unity, and a clear indication that Mudavadi is not part of their team in pursuit of a united Western Kenya front.
"We are disappointed with plans by the Mudavadi camp to form Team Komboa Kenya. It is now clear that Mr Mudavadi is not with us," he said.
