Interior CS Dr.Fred Matiangi has issued an order to arrest, prosecute and conviction of all those involved in the female genital mutilation (FGM) in Narok County under the stewardship of Narok county commissioner Mr.George Natembeya.
"Under the leadership of the County Commissioner, they must apprehend anyone practising FGM and facilitate prosecution and successful conviction without fear," tweeted Matiang'i.
Dr. Fred Matiang'i addressed a public baraza in Narok South to sensitise residents against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and other retrogressive cultural practices that have hampered social, academic, and economic development.
Narok County commissioner George Natembeya has been ordered to apprehend and ensure the prosecution and successful conviction of the perpetrators.
The county commissioner earlier this year issued an order for the pregnancy and FGM test to all girls in Narok county during the opening of term one in January a move which received opposition from both the locality, teachers and the political class.
Taking to his twitter, Dr.Matiangi said that his department will deal with all those threatening, intimidating the National government administrators who are discharging their duties not only in Narok county but across the nation.
"We will deal with anyone trying to intimidate National Government Administrators in Narok County while they are on duty," added Matiang'i
The CS has been on record rebuking the vice of outdated tradition and culture in this generation.
