Exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna now claims President Uhuru Kenyatta will rig out ODM leader in 2022 elections in favour of Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.
Mr Kenyatta reconciled with Odinga in March last year and the duo have been jointly moving across the country preaching unity under the umbrella of Building Bridges Initiative.
And in a tweet, Miguna argues that Uhuru will back Raila's candidature under Jubilee National Coalition but rig in Mr Moi, his traditional friend despite the outcome of the polls.
"Joseph Kabila has just given Uhuru some lesson. That he will publicly declare support to Raila Odinga under Jubilee National Coalition but later rig in Gideon Moi as his favorite successor," he wrote. https://twitter.com/MigunaMiguna/status/1083717461122396160?s=19.
Mr Kenyatta, who had promised support to his deputy William Ruto, seems to have moved on with Odinga despite not publicly acknowledging that he's no longer interested in a man who campaigned for him in two successive elections.
Former Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe, a close ally of Uhuru, recently hinted a possibility of creating a coalition with friendly partners ahead of 2022 polls.
"We can as well form Jubilee National Coalition. Kwani iko nini? We have Raila, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and many more people who can work with us but not Ruto," he said.
In Congo, critics have accused outgoing President Joseph Kabila of forcing in an opposition candidate, Felix Tshisekedi as winner of last year polls after his preferred candidate performed badly. They argue that popular Martin Fayulu won the polls but was rigged out.
