The decision by a section of Jubilee legislators to 'hijack' Deputy President William Ruto's state event prompted acting Nyamira County boss Amos Nyaribo to walk out of the event.
In a pensive tour that saw Ruto visit Keroka Level 4 hospital, Nyangori water project among other regions, Nyaribo, who is holding brief for Governor John Nyagarama, quit the event before Ruto's departure.
"The DG was supposed to invite the DP and some Jubilee mandarins hijacked the event. In fact, they assumed his role right from Ichuni Secondary," said a source from Nyaribo's office.
"He however kept cool and waited for Ruto to finish state event before he quit. He couldn't join the team at Rigoma market due to the breach of protocol," added the source.
At Rigoma market on Monday, Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose, was forced to hand over to Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi to proceed with the program after Nyaribo's protested.
But Nyaribo, has since defended his actions insisting that the Rigoma market was a Jubilee affair thus his decision to keep off.
"I finished serious development business that had brought the DP and left. I couldn't attend a Jubilee rally," he said.
Nyaribo is acting on behalf of Governor Nyagarama, who is in the US for treatment for the second month now.
