Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama has broken his silence after over 1,000 workers missed April salaries for allegedly being recruited through the backdoor.
The county boss insisted that there is no turning back whatsoever.
The ODM allied governor confirmed that no money will be paid to the illegally hired employees.
"The wage bill in the county government has been high because some people were sneaked into the payroll. I want to reiterate that workers who missed April salaries should not expect to be paid," he noted.
Nyagarama vowed to clear the mess in the development unit adding that the officers who sneaked the workers illegally into the county payroll will not be spared.
He assured that even his close allies and relatives engaged in illegal dealings to hire workers using the backdoor, they must be held responsible.
Nyagarama urged Nyamira residents to be calm as he works around the clock to clean the mess.
"I am assuring the people of Nyamira that I will not have a reverse gear in the fight to remove illegal workers from the payroll. I will fight to the end," he stated.
