The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has said it is rebranding ahead of the 2022 elections.
ODM has already acquired a prime building in Nairobi’s Lavington area worth Sh 180 million as it plans to vacate Orange House in Kilimani.
The party was given notice to vacate the Kilimani house after the party’s leadership allegedly differed with the owner of the building.
According to sources, the party has paid up to Sh20 million as a deposit for the property.
“Everything is going on as planned, and from this week we will start painting the building with our orange colour and have any other thing fixed. We are also shopping for new items such as furniture and cabinets for the new offices,” a party official told the standard.
Orange House is owned by Raila’s former aide Caroli Omondi and he reportedly refused to renew the party’s lease.
The new move comes as ODM seems ready to stage a bruising fight for the top seat in 2022.
Party loyalists have been adamant that Raila will be on the ballot in 2022 to fight it out for the presidency.
Raila has lost the presidential poll four times since 1997.
