Boda boda riders from Mogenda area in South Mugirango have threatened to stone Governor James Ongwae anytime he will step in the constituency.
According to the riders, Ongwae's administration has ignored them despite the fact that they voted for him during the last year's polls.
"Ongwae has ignored us. No Boda boda shed his government has built for us to shelter during rains and strong sunshine. We have nothing to celebrate about devolution," said Jared Mogeni.
Eric Mokaya, the riders' secretary claimed that Kisii County askaris have been demanding for bribes.
"The people Ongwae has employed as county askaris and revenue collecting officers are lazy, corrupt. We are being forced to give a bribe of Sh200 before we are allowed to pass at roadblocks. Ongwae should keep off South Mugirango," he said.
Isaiah Oroo said riders who have boycotted paying tax will not turn back until the county government fulfils the promises made during the last years' polls.
"No rider is going to pay tax to the county until the corrupt county askaris are either transferred or be sacked," said Oroo.
