In a tweet on Wednesday, Miguna said that county bosses should utilize the little funds they have already been allocated by the National Treasury.

He said that the funds allocated to the counties are enough for the governors to deliver their services.

He, however, said that President Uhuru, who is completing his second and final term in office, should find ways to recovering the lost billions in his government before pursuing governors.

"Despot Uhuru Kenyatta says Counties must account for the billions that they have stolen. I agree," he tweeted.

During his tour to Nakuru County on Wednesday, Uhuru said that there are no more funds to allocate to the county governments. He said that governors should use the funds they have at hand to initiate projects meant to help the taxpayers.

"Why don’t you approve this bill so that workers in counties are paid their salaries and drugs are to our hospitals? Why are we punishing our people who woke very early in the morning to queue and vote for us by spending a great deal of time arguing for more money, which is not there in the first place? questioned the President.

Many government services have been halted across the country over lack of funds and salaries for county employees.
