Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino has joined Kenyans to mourn the sad passing of Everline Namukhula, from Shisokhe village in Navakholo sub-county, Kakamega.
Everline who gave birth to quintuplets lost two of her babies before her fateful death on Sunday.
Namukhula lost her life at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) after complaining of chest pains on Saturday night.
Owino sent his condolences to the family through his official Facebook page on Sunday.
"I offer my profound condolences to her family and to the community of Kakamega county at large for this loss. I commit to supporting her family during this trying time. We will do our best to ensure her surviving children are looked after," noted Owino
According to the Embakasi East lawmaker, the time for losing life due to pregnancy-related complications passed.
He pointed out that the country should take a keen look at how health services are delivered to wananchi with a view of saving lives.
"President Uhuru Kenyatta has declared universal healthcare one of his Big Four Agenda items. But are the National Government and Counties doing everything possible to make this a reality? No!" added Owino
