Dagoretti North MP Paul Simba Arati claimed that the leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale and minority leader John Mbadi led a section of the MPs to receive the bribe so that they could throw out the report.

"Kenyans will now continue consuming mercury sugar after Duale and Mbadi led a team of MPs to receive a bribe of Sh10,000 so that they can throw out a report that was brought into the House for debate. I have mercy for Kenyans but, they will have to consume contaminated sugar because the people elected to represent them have prioritized money," he said.

He said Duale and Mbadi should be ignored by Kenyans since they are only interested in filling up their stomachs.

"Taxpayers' money has been used to probe allegations of contaminated sugar by paying the committee that was appointed to investigate only for the MPs led by Duale and Mbadi to lead others to accept bribe to throw out the committees; report. Corruption in this country will never end," he noted.

The vocal ODM MP said he was among the few MPs who were supporting the report but, their voice was not heard since the MPs who received bribe defeated them by throwing out the report.

Arati was speaking during an interview with KTN news on Friday afternoon at Parliament buildings.
