Deputy President William Ruto's Tanga Tanga movement is no more, a Nyamira based politician said on Friday.
According to the Wiper Party vice chairman Victor Swanya, the movement died after President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered lifestyle audit for all civil servants.
"Ruto was using money he has stolen to recruit leaders to join his Tanga Tanga movement ahead of the 2022 general elections. The team is no more because Ruto succumbed after President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered a lifestyle audit for all civil servants," he said in Nyaikuro.
The vocal politician said DP Ruto will find it hard to get a campaign team in 2022 when he will be vying for the presidency.
He said any leader from the Gusii region who will associate himself or herself with DP Ruto will not win any elective post in 2022.
"Even small kids know DP Ruto is corrupt. Any leader who will associate himself with Ruto will not win the election in 2022 because the electorates will consider such leaders to be corrupt," he noted.
Swanya even proposed that Uhuru "sacks" Ruto over allegations that he has been involved in corruption.
Last week, an Ipsos poll indicated that Ruto is the most corrupt leader in the country.
In a rejoinder through his spokesperson David Mugonyi, the DP said the poll was sponsored by his political enemies to tarnish his name and credibility.
