The investigations into the murder of Rongo University student, Sharon Otieno, has continued to elicit a mixed reaction from different factions.
On Saturday, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko called for a speedy probe into the deceased's murder.
Speaking during the commemoration of his late father Gideon Mbuvi Kioko's third anniversary at Mua in Machakos county, Sonko said Sharon was stabbed six times while the post-mortem by government pathologist indicates that she was stabbed eight times.
The first-time governor asked the team investigating the matter to speed up the same for the sake of justice for the deceased after the autopsy report.
He wondered why the politician who allegedly impregnated the deceased did not use protection to ensure he does not make her pregnant at the end of the day if he did not want her to carry his child.
“The postmortem has been conducted and I do not know why you fear to say this. The report says she was stabbed six times because the politician asked Sharon to abort the baby and she refused. Why didn’t he then use a condom? Shame on you,” Sonko said.
The probe into the incident, however, took a different twist after a man posing as a Kenya Defense Force (KDF) officer met Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s Personal Assistant Michael Oyamo at the Homa Bay police cell.
It is unclear how the man, Lukas Ouko, tricked the officers manning the cell to meet Oyamo.
