A Jubilee legislator has dismissed claims that Gusii secondary schools depend on leakages to excel in national exams.
Kitutu Chache North MP Jimmy Angwenyi said the claims by KNEC officials led by Prof. George Magoha and PS Belio Kipsang are false.
"Our schools have teachers who are competent in teaching learners. The claims by KNEC that our schools engage in exam cheating are false only meant to taint the name of our schools," he said.
The MP urged KNEC officials to make a formal apology to the Gusii community for linking area institutions to malpractices.
"TSC has given us good teachers and KNEC should inquire from TSC offices on the competency of teachers instead of linking our schools falsely. A formal apology should be made by KNEC to clear the falsehood," said Angwenyi.
He wished Nyamira and Kisii Counties' 2018 KCSE and KCPE candidates all the best in their final exams this year.
