Three men were on Friday arrested over claims of planning to disrupt the ongoing by-election in Ugenya constituency.
The trio was reportedly caught with weapons in a car.
According to Ugenya OCPD Willy Simba, the three identified as Emmanuel Odhiambo, Hillary Ochieng' and Erick Onyango were reportedly nabbed at around 3am with the weapons.
They were allegedly nabbed with a panga and stones before they were arraigned in court and charged with preparing to engage in a felony.
The three were later released on Sh5,000 bond, according to the Standard.
The police boss said that his officers made the arrests after receiving a tip-off from members of the public.
Violence was also reported in North Ugenya where supporters of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate Chris Karan and former area MP David Ochieng' clashed.
The confrontation left one man nursing injuries but he has been declared to be in stable condition.
Other aspirants eyeing the seat include Grand Dream Development Party (GDDP) candidate Daniel Juma and Third Way Alliance aspirant Brian Omondi.
The two are however registered in Nairobi.
