Just hours before her daughter's lifeless body was discovered on Tuesday evening at Kodero Forest, Melida Auma had wished that Sharon Otieno would finally reach her.
Aware of the abduction, reports the Nation, Ms. Auma literally broke down when she was reached for comment over the abduction that had caught the country with surprise.
In her appeal, she wished that her daughter was safe and that she may have survived death from kidnappers who drove her to unknown destination.
“Please don’t tell me they have killed my girl. I hope she is still alive and that she will finally reach me,” said Ms Auma, a primary school teacher in Homa Bay.
She also revealed that her daughter, a student at Rongo University pursuing Medical Records course, was seven months pregnant.
Ms. Otieno's lifeless body was taken to Oyugis Level Four Hospital after it was retrieved by the police from Kodero Forest, which has been christened 'Grave of hell'.
An aide to Migori Governor Okoth Obado, Mr. Michael Oyamo, has been arrested in connection to the mysterious death after it emerged that he had organised for a meeting with the deceased and Nation journalist Barack Oduor.
