A politician allied to opposition ODM party has dismissed claims on Tuesday ODM party leader Raila Odinga and KANU party leader Gideon Moi met to discuss 2022 polls.
According to Samuel Omwando, Raila met Moi to extend the handshake.
"Raila is meeting leaders from other political parties to extend the handshake and preach peace. Those thinking that something is cooking ahead of 2022 are day dreamers," said Omwando.
Omwando urged politicians to stop politician any meeting the former Prime Minister holds with other leaders.
"It is important that there is an initiative known as Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) which was born after the historic handshake. Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta should reach to everyone to explain the importance of unity and that is what Raila is doing," he stated.
He argued that politicians politicizing Raila's meetings are seeking political relevance in this country.
"Votes won't be won by politicizing any meeting Raila holds with other leaders. It is high time aspiring politicians to lay good strategy which will enable them win votes in 2022 instead of dwelling much on retrogressive politics," he added.
