ODM supporters trolled President Uhuru Kenyatta's lawyer Fred Ngatia at Kisumu Appeals Court after losing a major case.

Mr. Ngatia, who has represented the president in high profile cases, was nowhere in court even as his client, Walter Nyambati lost an appeal against governor John Nyagarama.

In April, Ngatia was reportedly paid Sh20 million to appear in the case, a move that precipitated ODM supporters to mock him.

"I though Ngatia has never lost such high magnitude cases. But yet again, I can't see him in court. Maybe he is celebrating," said Justus Obiero.

Another supporter, Melody Kerry added: " Perhaps Ngatia went to secure a plot at Mau. He should return the money."

Justice Kathurima I'Manoti, on behalf of the bench, maintained that Nyagarama was validly elected.

In February, High Court Judge James Makau upheld Nyagarama's victory, precipitating Nyambati to move to Appeals Court.

The two closely contested the gubernatorial seat with 6,500 votes separating them.
