Addressing Rabai residents on Saturday, Joho explained what Coast residents have to do to be part of national leadership.

He was accompanied by Mathare MP Anthony Oluoch.

Likening politics to a boxing match where winning does not depend on the size of the participants, Joho urged Coast residents to believe that one of them can be on the presidential ballot come 2022.

“We must forget the past and plan the future. Coast people should never look down upon themselves. If it is failing, we will fail while in the ballot box. We must be counted in the next presidential race,” Joho said.

The ODM deputy party leader said that his strategy is to support the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.

According to him, this will help them have an easy time running the next government.

Joho believes that the current fight against corruption will not only benefit President Uhuru Kenyatta but also those who will be in the next government.

“We have to support President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga especially in their fight against corruption. This will help us when we take over leadership in 2022,” he added.
