President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday passionately appealed to leaders to stop politicking and instead act on all the promises they had made.
Speaking during the National Prayer Breakfast at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, Uhuru, who was accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto and South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit, challenged leaders to act on what they say and see where Kenya will be in five years.
“President Kenyatta has urged leaders to stop politicking and instead act on the promises and commitments made to the people of Kenya. The President said the only way to build a better nation that is all inclusive is by walking the talk for the benefit of all Kenyans,” State House issued a statement.
“The President stated that it is time for leaders to put into practice what they say to bring the much-desired change into the country. He said Kenya can be transformed into a more progressive country over the next 5 years if leaders prioritized the needs of Kenyans,” added the statement.
President Uhuru who is on his second and last term in office has an obligation to leave behind a legacy. He has for a long time been urging leaders to stop talking and act.
"If we could all just stop talking a bit (and) put into practice the things we’ve said here today, Kenya will be a different country in less than five years," said Uhuru.
