A man and his wife were denied bond by Kisii High court on Tuesday when they were arraigned and charged over murder.
The prosecution told the court that the suspects Laban Nyaata and Nancy Bochere jointly killed 17-year-old Alivinah Nyabwari a form four student of Sengera SDA mixed secondary school last year.
The court further heard that the suspects committed the offense in the night of September 23 and 24 last year.
The couple appeared before Kisii High court Judge David Majanja.
The suspects denied murder charges leveled against them and pleaded with the court to release them on bond pending the hearing and determination of the case.
Justice Majanja denied the suspects bond.
He ordered they be locked up at Kisii Main prisons until February 26 when he will rule on their bond application.
The deceased was lured from her room where she was revising for last year's KCSE exams before she was killed.
Her body was found dumped in a fish pond near her home at Mariba village.
The body had visible injuries on her neck and thighs.
