Political analyst Ambrose Weda has advised the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti to concentrate solely on his roles in the ongoing purge on graft.

This comes at a time when Kinoti has been put on the spot by politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto over accusations of bias in the anti-graft fight.

Days after Kinoti said he will not be manipulated by the interference from the politicians, Weda has advised the DCI to ignore the noises if he intends to win the fight.

He cautioned that by letting himself be sucked into the exchange, Kinoti will have joined the group in their own field thus forgetting about his job, a move which will derail him.

"He (Kinoti) is doing a great job so far. However, he seems to be entering into the murky waters of politics and this will most likely see him lose," he said.

Weda who doubles up as an advocate of the High Court was speaking on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation show on Wednesday morning.

He also advised Kinoti to cease being a newsmaker and do his job from behind the scenes to avoid tipping off the suspects he is investigating and also avoid more attacks.

"He will not win the fight by giving speeches and being on the media. He can only do it by doing his investigations and handing the evidence to the relevant authorities," he added.
