It is now almost becoming a tradition that whenever politicians pay a visit to various communities, one of the habits of blending well with them is adopting the community's dressing style or even taking a local 'alias' to win the hearts of locals.
With this in mind, Deputy President William Ruto on his Monday visit to Garissa Township constituency identified himself pretty well with the Somali community by rocking a white Kanzu.
Most interestingly the Deputy President jokingly named himself 'Abdullahi Warsame' a name that has since been picked by locals and is now trending in the locality.
"As you can see, I'm also a Somali, Abdullahi Warsame,' Ruto joked to the applause of the many who had attended the function.
In the Somali community, Warsame is a name given to a baby boy meaning the bearer of good news.
On the other part, Abdullahi means Allah's Servant and is also a variant of the more common Somali name Abdullah.
Coupled with his generous contribution in the Monday fundraiser, the locals feel indeed the DP is good news.
Among the famous Somali men going by the names include Mohammed Abdullahi Warsame, who is a Court of Appeal Judge.
Incidentally, Uhuru's lawyer Grand Mullah also goes by the name Abdullahi.
