According to an appointment letter seen by hivisasa.com, Biwot who served in the first Nandi county administration from 2013 to 2017 will begin his new role on November 1, 2018.

“Your employment will commence on 1st November 2018 for a period of three years,” reads part of the appointment letter.

Biwott who has been serving as the Economic Advisor to the current Nandi governor Stephen Sang will be based at the Noreb secretariat in Eldoret town.

The appointment comes at a time there have been questions over the future of Noreb especially after counties that form the bloc joined other regional blocs.

It’s only Uasin Gishu, whose boss, governor Jackson Mandago, is the Noreb chair that has not joined other blocs.

Nandi and Trans Nzoia have joined the Lake Region Economic Bloc, while Samburu, West Pokot and Elgeyo Marakwet have joined the Frontier Counties Development Council which brings together marginalized counties.

Noreb brings together 8 counties of Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Elgeyo Marakwet, Trans Nzoia, Samburu, Baringo, West Pokot and Turkana.
