Gospel singers in Ukambani have been criticized for not giving back to society.
A hot debate ensued on Facebook at Machakos County united group on Tuesday as to why Gospel artists from the region have not been seen undertaking activities meant to benefit the region.
Syokwia Kainga who started the debate said that in other regions gospel and secular artists have been seen organising events meant to thank their fans and also doing concerts meant to bring development.
She said that most of the time these gospel musicians are seen flashing their expensive lifestyles for the fans to salivate.
"Do gospel artists muno muno ma Ukamba give back to the society? these people mint millions through loyalties paid whenever their music is played be it by media houses or when you subscribe for their ringtones. All I have seen them is bragging how blessed they are and see them splash their extravagant lifestyles for us to salivate, "read the post.
" I have heard and seen secular artists organize functions to appreciate their fans. Eunice Njeri Is doing concerts with proceeds going towards drilling community borehole in Lodwar. I may be wrong but never heard of any activities organized by them to benefit their fans. As I said, I might be wrong, the post read more.
Members of the group gave mixed sentiments concerning the issue with other condemning the singers more while others defended them.
