Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka's name has been hitting headlines for several weeks now.
Kalonzo who has declared his interest in the 2022 presidential election has been on the receiving end after he was quoted proposing for extension of President Uhuru Kenyatta's presidential term.
The former Vice President later claimed that he had been misquoted by the media.
The Wiper Party leader's recent utterances have shocked his supporters and cast doubts on his presidential ambition in 2022.
In November 2018 during the burial of his father Peter Mairu, Kalonzo angered some of his close allies when he declared that he was ready to be President Kenyatta's 'mtu wa mko' (errand boy).
The remarks caused fury in Wiper party with some members saying it was uncalled for and 'demeaned' the Kamba community.
The 'mtu wa mkono' according to some of Kalonzo's allies portrayed him as weak and desperate.
Kalonzo has, however, defended the sentiments maintaining that he will work with President Kenyatta.
The remarks have seen him lose one of his close allies, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana.
Kalonzo's perceived failure to tame some of the Wiper MCAs has also exposed him badly even as he eyes to contest the 2022 poll.
Kitui MCAs have refused to approve the county's supplementary budget despite appeals from Governor Charity Ngilu to Kalonzo to intervene.
Ngilu has accused Kalonzo of keeping silent as his MCAs frustrate her leadership.
Political analyst Peter Ngure argues that Kalonzo seems to be taking diplomacy approach instead of reading the riot act to Wiper MCAs.
Kalonzo now appears more confused on whether he will contest the Presidency in 2022 or go for the Prime Minister's position in case the 2010 Constitution is amended.
He is confident that the Constitution will be amended to create a three tier government with chances that he would go for Deputy Prime Minister.
The Wiper leader has been quoted saying that he will step down for Uhuru if the latter wants to be Prime Minister in the next government after his second term lapses.
These scenarios according to Ngure portray Kalonzo as undecided politician.
The analyst says Kalonzo has a lot of homework to do if he wants to gain confidence and Kenyans' support ahead of the much anticipated 2022 polls.
