A section of Nyamira residents have expressed their happiness after President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i to head all other ministries in his government.
Excited locals congratulated Matiang'i on his appointment, saying it is a clear indication that he represents the Gusii community at the national level well.
"Matiang'i's hard work has earned him the big job. As residents we are happy and wish to urge Matiang'i to continue serving Kenyans in good faith," said Magdalene Kemuma.
Verah Nyaboke challenged elected leaders in Nyamira County to emulate Matiang'i.
"Local leaders should emulate Dr Matiang'i. President Uhuru Kenyatta should consider endorsing Matiang'i for Presidency in 2022 since he now trusts him more than his Deputy President William Ruto," saud Nyaboke.
George Bibao, a Jubilee party chairman in Bomachoge Borabu lauded the Head of State for having faith in Matiang'i.
"Gusii leaders should gang up to push Matiang'i to go for the country's top seat in 2022 because he has won the President's trust. As a community we are proud about Matiang'i's hard work," said Bibao.
