Two minors have died and two others sustained serious injuries following a road accident in Machakos County.

The four had borrowed a motorbike to travel to Ngomeni Secondary school where they had gone to watch a local football match in Mitituni, Machakos Sub County.

The motorbike on which the four of them were traveling on hit a bump few metres from Kamuthanga shopping centre leading to the incident.

The two died on the spot after the motorbike veered off the road after it lost control.

They were on their way back home during the Sunday's 8.00 pm incident.

Those who died hit their heads on trees losing their lives on the spot as the others sustained broken limbs and scratches.

The victims were rushed to Machakos Level 5 Hospital by the well-wishers.

Kamuthanga sub-chief Raphael Nzau confirmed the incident.

Nzau said one of the boys who died on the spot was a KCSE candidate, while the other one, a form three student at Kyaani secondary school.

"Those who died were between 17-19 years mere minors who were still students, they had borrowed a motorbike to go and watch a match at Mutituni when the tragedy struck," Nzau said.

He urged residents to avoid giving underage and inexperienced children motorbikes to ride.

Nzau said those who sustained injuries were rushed to Machakos Level 5 Hospital for treatment.

The bodies were removed to the same hospital's mortuary.
