A section of ODM party members has vowed to use all channels available to kick out Deputy President William Ruto from his current position over what they term as his 'appetite towards state resources'.

The renewed calls come just a week after Siaya Senator James Orengo threatened to initiate an impeachment motion against Ruto, claiming that the DP is culpable of misconduct.

At Embakasi South on Sunday, a group of ODM leaders vowed to ensure the DP loses his seat long before 2022 elections.

They also accused him of undermining the authority.

"Whatever it takes to remove him from office will be used. Even if it's impeachment, so be it. His appetite for public resources is worrying and action ought to be taken as early as now," said Edwin Sifuna, the party's Secretary-General.

Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati dared the DP to resign 'if he thinks he's strong'.

Arati said the ODM brigade will continue pushing for his exit, adding that he's a stumbling block in the fight against corruption.

“Show me your company and I will tell your character. If he (Ruto) is a strong man as he is lied to by his friends, let him resign,” said Arati.

The DP's camp has accused ODM leader Raila Odinga of plotting Ruto's ouster to allegedly take over as Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, a claim which ODM dismissed.

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro had said: "We know your plans to kick out Ruto so that you take over. We are not going to allow that. Trust me, we shall protect the DP."
