Some of the big names in the music industry, both in the gospel and secular world trace their roots back to Gusiiland; either in Nyamira or in Kisii. Below are some of the big names in this industry.
1.Nyashinski
The Hayawani hitmaker whose real name is Duncan Nyamari is a top artiste in the country and he hails from Kisii. Releasing hit after hit Nyashiski has won many awards in the past few years and has become a household name in the music industry.
Some of his famous and favourite hits for scores of Kenyans include Hello, Malaika, Free among others.
2. Raj
The hip hop artiste who hails from Mogonga , Kisii county has rocked the hip hop world with his rapping prowess. He has released several collabos with famous artists like STL, Wangechi and others. He is now a force to reckon with in the industry.
3. Ringtone
His real name is Alex Apoko. He has rocked the gospel industry for a long time now. Ringtone is well-known for his hit songs like Tenda Wema in collaboration with Tanzanian songbird Christina Shusho.

Miggy champ is known for his "Mamissments" track and also his collabo with Kisii veteran musician Ong'eng'o .
