Speaking on Monday at DCI headquarters, the former Meru Governor dismissed the allegations implicating him in the secret plot targeting Ruto.

While he has been meeting colleagues, he said, their mission has totally been about development. He said President Uhuru Kenyatta had blessed the meetings.

“The complainant makes a substantive complaint in writing against which we can be able to respond. But we have made it clear that at no time have we met anywhere, not just in La Mada, to kill the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya,” he said in his defence.

"We have been having meetings as leaders from central Kenya; I have been chairing the meetings as mandated by the president. We have no plans of assassinating," added Munya.

According to him, DP Ruto had made the allegations to the DCI about the plot to eliminate him. He is, however, yet to make a formal complaint.

Munya said that along with his colleagues Sicily Kariuki, Joe Mucheru and James Macharia, they have never had the interest to eliminate the DP.

"They -police- have a purported letter that has been doing rounds in the social media. The police have confirmed that @WilliamsRuto made a call claiming that there are plans to kill him," he added.

He did not record a statement. Munya said he has no issues with the DP and that he is always ready to work together with him for the sake of development.
